Winter Water Safety

As the colder weather is now upon us, it is important for our pupils, families, and community to be aware of winter water safety. Ice-covered lakes, ponds, and rivers can appear inviting but are often dangerously thin and unstable. We encourage everyone to avoid walking or playing on frozen water bodies and to always stay within safe, supervised areas near water. Remind pupils to wear appropriate clothing near water in cold weather to prevent hypothermia and to seek immediate help if anyone falls into cold water.
